What is the Go Wild Gorilla Art Trail?

The Marketing Bureau team were proud to be part of the Go Wild Gorilla Art Trail in partnership with Wild in Art, to celebrate Durrell’s 60th anniversary in 2019.

During the Summer of 2019 artists from across Jersey, the UK and further afield turned life-size, blank gorilla sculptures into vibrant works of art for both local residents and tourists to marvel.

Meet The Marketing Bureau’s adopted gorilla.

The Marketing Bureau gorilla has been designed by local artist Francesca Monticelli you can find out more about her work below…

Francesca Monticelli was commissioned to create her selected design on one of the forty life-size fibreglass gorilla sculptures.  Fran came up with an amazing bright vibrant creation and our team knew it was going to stand out, be bold and get noticed.

You can find our ‘Jungle Banana Split’ Gorilla at Charing Cross in St Helier right near the Clock Tower outdoor digital screen. It is currently the number one unlocked Gorilla out of the troop of 40!

How our Gorilla design was created

Once The Marketing Bureau had signed up to the project we went about choosing our design; We wanted something bold and stand out that would make people stop in their tracks. When we saw Frans design we just knew it was perfect for us…

Once we had chosen our design it was over to Fran to turn her drawing into reality, during the process we got updates from Francesca, so we could find out how she was getting on with the design.
